Edith Ann Shue Weaver, age 84, of Stony Point, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at her residence after a period of declining health. She was born September 20, 1934 in Rowan County, to the late Dewey Ransom Shue and Mary Magdalene Hopkins Shue.

Edith worked in Electronics as Quality Control, a member of the VFW Auxiliary, and the Red Hat Society. She was a member of Mt Zion Lutheran Church in Hickory but recently attended New Life Church in Taylorsville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Henry Weaver; one son, James Barry Weaver; two brothers, Jack Shue and Billy Shue; two sisters Ruby Friend and Ella Mae Boone.

Edith is survived by one son; George Weaver of Stony Point; one daughter Debra W. Dula and husband Mark  of Stony Point; three grandchildren Jason Weaver and wife April, Kevin Weaver, and Luke Sales, John Dula, Chris Dula; one great-grandchild Cameron Weaver.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Steve Watson will officiate.  Burial will be 9:00 am Monday, November 26, 2018 in the Historic Section of National Cemetery, Salisbury 202 Government Road. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm before the service at the Chapel.

Memorials may be made in Edith’s memory to the American Lung Association, 401 Hawthorne Lane, Suite 110 #298, Charlotte, NC 28204.
