Patricia Alexander “Pat” Chapman, age 75 of 8350 NC Hwy 90 East, Stony Point passed away Tuesday February 9, 2010 at Gordon Hospice House after an extended illness. She was born November 27, 1934 in Alexander County to the late Robert E Alexander and Ruby Overcash Alexander. She was one of the owners of Chapman Funeral Home.

She was a lifetime member of Stony Point United Methodist Church and she was the founder of the Circle of Friends of Stony Point UMC, she also had served as secretary for the church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Alexander.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Grady Chapman of the home; two sons, Anthony Chapman and Ashley Chapman both of Stony Point; two daughters, Alisha Elliott of Little River, SC, and Amanda Pope of Stony Point; three brothers, Bradley Alexander of Denver, Nicky Alexander of Statesville, and J Fred Alexander of Sanford; seven grandchildren: Lana Elliott, Ashton Elliott, Preston Chapman, Megan Chapman, Whitney Pope, Bethany Pope, Jordan Chapman; three great grandchildren: Krista Chapman, Braeden Perham and Mya Elliott; and a number of nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm Friday February 12, 2010 at Stony Point United Methodist Church. Rev. Duval Mason and Rev. Sidney Lanier will officiate. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00pm Thursday February 11, 2010 at Stony Point United Methodist Church.
