Doris Curtis Webster Cass, age 75 of 288 Herman Road, Taylorsville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Tuesday February 14, 2012 at her home, after an extended illness. She was born November 24, 1936 in Alexander County to the late Frank Thomas Curtis and Lona St. Clair Curtis. She had worked at Carolina Glove and was a homemaker. She attended Living Church of God in Statesville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Curtis and Samuel Curtis; three sisters, Jolene Curtis, Vera Mae Curtis and Shirley Sue Curtis; and one step brother, Lawton Teak.

She is survived by the father of her children, Kenneth Roger Webster of Taylorsville; one son, Michael Webster and wife Brenda of Hiddenite; five daughters, Phyllis Joan Hildebran and husband Keith of Connelly Springs, Shirley Mae Matheson and husband Kenneth of Taylorsville, Sylvia Gayle Parham and Jeff Chester of Taylorsville, Vicki Denise Cass and husband Eddie of Union Grove, Nancy Ann Nanney and husband Ralph of Connelly Springs; two sisters, Mary Catherine Chapman of Valdese, Nettie Carolyn Bressler and husband Jake of Statesville; a step sister, Cora Lee Hendren; three half-sisters, Wanda Presswood and husband Larry, Patti Newman and husband David, Frankie Poarch and husband Rex all of Lenoir; thirteen grandchildren, Gina Millsaps, Tera Poore, Matthew Moretz, Audrey Pressley, Kelly Dishmond, Erik Matheson, Bryan Matheson, Tammi Gales, Jessi Palinski, Christy Brown, Stephanie Cass, Kevin Houston, Jeffery Hilton.; and eighteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30pm Thursday February 16, 2012 at the Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Gary Jennings and Rev. Mark Marshall will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm Thursday at Chapman Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
