I work at the Days Inn in Waynesboro, Va .  Mr. Allen was one of my first guests to check in back in 2006.  It has been a pleasure to know him for the past 12 years  (my name is Franny).  I always told him how much he reminded me of my granddaddy and he would call me “gal”.  We just found out today (10/30/2017) of his passing.  We have been concerned that he has not shown up at regular times to check in so we contacted the company today and they informed us of what happened.  I personally want his family to know how much I will miss him.  My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to all of your family.  I know all of our staff that knew him are greatly saddened by this news.  He will be missed and he will not be forgotten.  If we can help in any way please do not hesitate to let anyone here at Days Inn know.  Again we are very sorry for your loss.  He was a great person and highly regarded by us all.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your loved one, Norris. May you find comfort in the words written at John 5:28,29, where God promises to bring back to life those we have lost in death by means of a resurrection.  In the future He will also eliminate our enemy, death.(Isaiah 25:8)  This gives us the wonderful hope of being reunited with our loved ones, forever.   Until then, I hope the memories of Norris and these promises from God comfort you in the days to come.

I worked with Norris as the Project Manager for the last two years.  I always enjoyed talking to him on-site because of his easy going attitude. He always had a smile on his face and wanted to help out in any way he could.  He was one of our best operators.
I saw him on Thursday standing on the tracks of the excavator with one hand on his hip and another leaning up against the equipment and I told him that he should have been a model for equipment.  We both laughed and went on back to work.
I will miss getting to see and talk with him on the jobsite.
