Ruth Hendricks Rowe, 89, of 211 Icard Ridge Rd,, Granite Falls, passed away unexpectedly, after a very short illness, Friday, Mar. 28, 2008, at Frye Regional Hospital. She was born on Aug. 18, 1918, in Norristown, PA, to the late William and Elise (Dettra) Hendricks. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church. She was a loving Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and will be greatly missed by all.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Rowe; her son-in-law, Samuel Hertzler, and siblings: Clarence Hendricks, Ella Zeigler, Rebecca Silk, Florence Everson, Marion O’Brian, Betty Light and William Hicks. Loved ones left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Ruth Ann Hertzler of Bethlehem and Vivian Stipa of Philadelphia, PA; two sisters, Edna Kingston of Norristown, PA and Doris Detharidge of Philadelphia, PA; four grandsons, Keith and wife Sue Hertzler, Kevin and wife Myra Hertzler, Ken and wife Tonia Hertzler and Kyle and wife Tina Hertzler; Eight great grandchildren: Kimberly Ann, Kurtis Charles, Lauren Olivia, Tyler Matthew, Kendall William, Miranda Danielle, Amber Louise and Maura Anne and a number of nieces and nephews. There will be no funeral services and a private burial will take place. All arrangements are pending with Chapman Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to American Heart Association, 202 Centre Port Ave., Greensboro, NC 27409 or to the Alexander County Relay for Life, 6000 Fairview Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210.
