Zora Elizabeth Mecimore, 89, of 191 Taylorsville Manufacturing Road, Taylorsville, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2008, at her home after a brief illness. She was born on May 14, 1918 in Alexander County to the late Charlie Walker and Sina Walker. She was a homemaker and a member of Wayfound Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers: Vernon Walker and Ralph Walker; two sisters, Florence Roberts and Dora St Clair.

She is survived by her husband Roby Mecimore of the home; four sons, James Mecimore and wife Dianne, Tommy Mecimore, Howard Mecimore and wife Rachel, Conley Mecimore and wife Martha; one daughter, Betty Hollifield all of Taylorsville, six grandchildren: Scott Mecimore and wife Linda, Brett Mecimore and wife Cheryl, Chris Mecimore and his fiancée Kasey Pope, Wesley Mecimore and wife Amanda, Beth Hollifield and William Hollifield; six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3:00pm at Wayfound Baptist Church.Rev. Eddie Yount and Rev. Marty Robinson will be officiating. Body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral hour at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00pm-8:30pm at Chapman Funeral Home and at other times at the home. Notes of sympathy may be sent by clicking on the "Condolence" link below.
