Lena Carol Johnson, age 52, of 510 Sulphur Springs Rd., Hiddenite, passed away Thursday August 2, 2012 at Iredell Memorial Hospital, unexpectedly. She was born October 8, 1959 to the late Eugene Willie Welborn and Grace McDaniels Welborn. She was previously employed by Mitchell Gold Furniture and was a homemaker. Carol loved spending time with her grandson. She was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing. She was also a member of Millersville Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Charlton Johnson; a son, Bryan Dale Johnson; a daughter, Teri Michelle Johnson; a grandson, Alex Lee Johnson all of the home; two brothers, Lee Dishman and wife Shirley of Taylorsville, Lonnie Welborn and wife Debbie of Statesville; three sisters, Sue Moore, Lois Wilcox and husband Tommy, Lisa Adams and husband Billy all of Hiddenite; two brothers in law, Barry Carlton Johnson, Bobby Johnson and wife Teresa; a sister in law, Charlene Johnson all of Hiddenite;; her father in law, Charlie Johnson; mother in law, Reba Orren; ten nephews; three nieces; and special friends, Danielle and Rick of Charleston, SC.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00pm Saturday August 4, 2012 at Millersville Baptist Church. Rev. Bill Orren will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:45-2:45pm prior to the service at the church.

I want to tell you how sorry I am to hear about Carol. I always thought alot of her and she loved her family. It's was such a shock to see this in the paper today. I hope you lean on God during this very difficult time.
