Leslie Ingram Gregory, 96, of 4891 Taylorsville Hwy, Stony Point, formerly of Temple, OK, passed away Monday, May 5, 2008, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. He was born on Jan. 27, 1912, in Macon County, NC, to the late Ingram Gregory and Margaret Fox Gregory. He retired after 28 years of service in the United States Army, he retired after 25 years as a General Contractor and in his later years he worked as a Wheat Farmer. Mr. Gregory was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his three wives: first, Hattie Gregory, second Bess Gregory and third Emo Crouch Gregory; three brothers, Arthur Glenn Gregory, Sumner Clingman Gregory and Thomas Lee Gregory; one sister, Lydia Alice Gregory.
He is survived by his son, Leonard Ray Gregory of Britthaven Rest Home and wife Evelyn; four grandchildren and two step grandchildren and a number of nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be conducted at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, Wednesday at 3:00pm. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour. Military Rites will be provided by VFW Hiddenite Post #10,000 and VFW Taylorsville Post #5466. Rev. Steve Parks and Rev. Mitch King will officiate. The family will receive friends after the service at the church and at other times at the home of his nephew, Jimmy Gregory at 472 East Lackey Farm Road, Stony Point, NC. Memorials may be given to the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, 116 Patterson Road, Hiddenite, NC. 28636.
