Madaline Clark Fisher left her life on earth Tuesday evening January 9, 2018. She was 96 years old.

Born in Delaware, Ohio on May 9, 1921, she spent much of her life working as a licensed practical nurse at Elmhurst Nursing Home in Westerville, Ohio and as a homemaker.

She and her husband owned C.M. Fisher & Sons Lumber in Cheshire, Delaware County, Ohio. They also owned harness horses and enjoyed racing them as a hobby.

She moved to Statesville, North Carolina in 1978, and worked at Brian Center of Mooresville and Hill Haven of Statesville until she retired at the age of 76.

She was a faithful member of Command Baptist Church for many years, and was well loved by her church family. She loved playing bingo with her friends at the Iredell Senior Center, and at the Plaza Apartments, where she lived from 2003 until 2016.

She was an extremely skilled seamstress, and earned a heap of blue ribbons over the years for all of the shirts and dresses she lovingly made for her great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Clark, mother, Zella Bell, husband, Clyde M. Fisher, sister, Mildred Clark Burns, four brothers, Carol Beck Clark, Harley Clark, Edward Clark and Charles Clark, daughter, Carol Lee Fisher and two sons, Andrew and Kenneth Fisher. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Morgan (Rev. James Morgan), a son, Millard Fisher (Nancy), 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

“Ms. Fisher,” as she was endearingly known as to many, spent the last two years of her life at Brookdale Senior Living on East Broad Street and at Autumn Care of Statesville. Along with her perfect peanut butter fudge, her friends and family will miss her ever-present smile and her good hugs.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Command Baptist Church with Rev. James Morgan and Rev. Tony Fox. Burial will follow at Command Baptist Church.

My prayers are with the Family as you grieve.  I am sad to hear the last of my Papa's (Charles) siblings has gone to be with the Lord. Though I only met Madaline once my love is with you all as you say your goodbyes and send her to reunite with past loved ones.

I am saddened to hear of Madeline's passing.  She was such a gracious lady.  I have fond memories of her bringing cookies to the write group, still warm from the oven.  She was always faithful to bring a cake to bingo.  Her smile and kindness will be fondly remembered, and  deeply missed at Iredell Senior Center.
