Evelyn Witherspoon Dunnigan, 89, of 1153 Twin Cedars Rd, Yadkinville, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008,  at Hospice of Forsyth County. She was born on April 4, 1919, in Iredell County, to the late Joshua Butler Witherspoon Sr. and Sally Sigmon Witherspoon. She attended Sharon School of Statesville and retired after 37 years, from Forsyth Memorial Hospital as a surgical technician. She was also a member of Sharon Lutheran Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Bost; second husband, John Reid and third husband, Thomas Dunnigan; one son, Nathan “Sonny” Bost; one brother, Joshua Butler “J.B.” Witherspoon Jr.; two sisters, Frances Crouch and Summia Pope.  She is survived by her daughter, Kay Sapp Dinkins and husband David of Yadkinville; daughter-in-law, Jewel Lytton; three sisters, Margaret James of Statesville, Dolly Deal of Statesville, Jean Deal and husband L.A. of Statesville; one sister-in-law, Jan Witherspoon of Statesville; eight grandchildren: Richard Bost and wife Mary, Nathan Sapp and wife Kathy, Sheila Lewis and husband Alfredo, Brian Sapp, Stephen Sapp, Michael Dinkins (Lenora Combs), Libby England and husband Larry, Belinda Campbell and husband Tim;  twelve great grandchildren; twelve great great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. A special thanks to the caregivers at Hospice of Forsyth County: Lois Hayes, Madonna Clifton and Donna Wilson. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00am at Sharon Lutheran Church, 2116 Island Ford Rd, Statesville. Rev. Gene Bruce will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00am-11:00am at Sharon Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
