Charles Richard “Charlie” Brown, Sr., age 70 of Taylorsville, passed January 12, 2018 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born July 24, 1947 in Caldwell County to the late Conley Richard Brown and Willie Mae Pennell Brown. He retired as a professional truck driver and heavy equipment operator and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his daughter Amimarie Brown on July 1, 2017.

Those left to cherish, his memory are two sons, Charles “Charley” Brown, Jr. and wife Barbara of Taylorsville and Brandon “Fudd” Brown and wife Allison of Hiddenite; one daughter, Danette B. Childers and husband Jody of Taylorsville; two brothers, Gary Brown and wife Becky of Conover and Doug Brown and wife Mildred of Lenoir; five grandchildren, Garrett and Weston Brown of Hiddenite, Mason Lackey, Thomas and Luke Brown of Taylorsville.     

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Three Forks Baptist Church, Three Forks Rd. Taylorsville. Rev. Carson Moseley will officiate. Burial will follow the funeral service in the Dover Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 at Three Forks Baptist Church.

Have  known Charlie my whole life.I moved away in the 70s but he and I reconnected several years ago while I was on a visit home to N.C.and have stayed in contact via phone and visits home.He shared with me his deep love for his children and grandchildren,his enjoyment of his friends and general appreciation of life even though he had rough times.My sincere condolences to all of his family and friends.I will truly miss him in my life.
